General

  On-Hired Employment Safety (WHS)

which introduces an individual to “on-hired employment”, sometimes referred to as ‘temping’ ‘contracting’ and ‘labour hire’. It covers:

  • Responsibilities for safety in on-hire employment
  • What unsafe work is
  • What to do if the person encounters unsafe work on an on-hire assignment
  • What to do if the person are injured at work

The module also explains incident management, including Emergency Management, and the actions to take in the event of an injury.

  Prevention of Discrimination, Harassment and Bullying

This module examines workplace discrimination, harassment and bullying, and how to prevent it. The module includes:

  • Definitions of discrimination, harassment, and bullying
  • Information to assist you in identifying discrimination, harassment and bullying and how it might affects others
  • Information on how to prevent discrimination, bullying and harassment
  • Details of what to do if you feel you experience discrimination, harassment or bullying at work.

  Safety & Equality in OHS (PowerPak)

This module examines workplace discrimination, harassment and bullying, and how to prevent it. This module combines on-hired employee safety and discrimination, bullying and harassment information, and is the basis for further induction.

This module addresses:

  • Definition of your role
  • Your role as a temporary contractor
  • Who is responsible for your workplace safety
  • Definition of unsafe work
  • Common hazards and risks
  • What to do if you encounter unsafe work
  • Emergency Management
  • Definitions of discrimination, bullying and harassment
  • Options and avenues to respond to discrimination, harassment and bullying

NOTE: Some modules are dedicated to a particular topic whilst others, like this one, have been condensed and combined for those that have less time or for those candidate’s who present a lower risk.

The decision of which modules an individual should complete is up to employers and others in control of workplaces, and the decision should be based on compliance obligations, risk management principles and operational considerations, amongst other things. At WorkPro, we have provided you with the tools and then employers make the decision on how and when to use them!

  Working Alone

This module provides information for those individuals who work alone regularly and in an unfamiliar environment the majority of the time.

  • The duty imposed on Officers’ by the Model Work Health and Safety Act
  • Practical steps to fulfill due diligence obligations

  Hazardous Manual Tasks

Work health and safety is fundamental in every organisation today, however, statistics show that a high percentage of injuries are caused by manual handling. Although every WorkPro module incorporates elements of manual task and handling, given the persistent high rate of injury, this module provides individuals with specific and detailed information around this key risk.

The module includes:

  • Definitions and characteristics of hazardous manual tasks;

  Manufacturing Worker Safety

This module outlines the risks and controls associated with manufacturing, including:

  • Being struck by a forklift or load
  • Falls and uses of hazardous substances

It also provides information on the appropriate ways to maintain safety in a general manufacturing environment.

  Store Worker Safety

Provides you with an overview of storage and manual order picking risks and controls, including:

  • Sprains and strains within the ‘best working zone’
  • Optimum method when reaching to lift and/or handle objects
  • Moving to the picking pallet
  • Rules around stretch wrapping
  • Packaging information
  • Handling empty pallets
  • Preventative measures for falling stock

  Forklift Safety Operator

This module is not designed as formal training to gain a forklift licence.

This module has been developed to remind individual’s of some of the most important elements of safe forklift operations, including:

  • Forklift Hazards and Risks
  • Forklift instability and how to manage it
  • Reminders about forklift speed and braking distances, and how to reduce the risk associated with forklift speed
  • Handling loads, including falling loads
  • Cabin information and potential risks and hazards and how to manage these
  • Typical sprains and strains involved in operating a forklift

  • Pedestrians and traffic management planning

  Construction Work Safety

This module covers the following:

  • the most common hazards and risks in general construction;
  • what you can do to prevent these risks injuring someone or making them ill; and
  • broad safe work principles.

This module focuses specifically on safety elements for general construction activities, therefore it does not cover all aspects of construction or site specific requirements.

  Hazardous Manual Tasks

WorkPro’s resources module is a generic training course applicable to workers in the resources industry in Australia. The module is a 2 hour training module designed to be complemented by a minesite induction. The module is intended to be aligned with some of the outcomes in the Nationally Accredited Unit Resources Industry unit RIIOHS201A Work Safely and will follow OHS policies and procedures.

The module includes:

  • An overview of the inherent generic hazards of a mine site, including applying and accessing site safety procedures

  • What the individual can do to prevent these risks injuring them or someone else, as well as how to prevent illness, and
  • Broader safe work principles.

  CPR & Basic Life Support (BLS)

This module is theoretical training on CPR and BLS aimed at individuals working in a health care facility. This training module should complement annual practical training to confirm competencies.

  • Current guidelines for compression and breath ratios when performing CPR;
