Does your potential employee have the right to work in Australia?
Most temporary visa holders have work rights, although some classes of visas do have restrictions.
The penalties for employers convicted under the employer sanctions legislation for employing or referring illegal workers, face fines of up to $13,200 or two years imprisonment per illegal worker. Companies face fines of up to $66,000 per illegal worker.
As part of WorkPro's breadth of pre-employment services, we can provide you with one-step access to accurate and transparent employee work rights information - completely free.
How does it work?
STEP 1: Part of WorkPro's registration process includes completing residency status information.
STEP 2: Once you are securely logged into WorkPro, select 'Visa Check'. Via a seamless, secure link to the Department of Immigration's VEVO database, you will be able to view and validate their information.
There is no cost associated to run a Visa check, but importantly, once validated, WorkPro will store a confirmation of the residency status check, so it's available as a report when you require the information for audit and tracking purposes.
To use this service, you must be a current WorkPro client. If you would like further information, please contact us.
