How are Employment History Checks performed?

The Process

Once the CV check is requested, WorkPro contacts the HR or Payroll department of the candidate’s listed places of work to verify their employment. Details verified include:

  • Dates of employment
  • Position/s held
  • Details of promotions
  • Last salary
  • Any bonuses
  • Name of previous Line Managers
  • Reason for leaving
  • Eligibility for re-hire

Five valid attempts are made over three days, and as a last resort, the direct manager will be contacted.

WorkPro Employment History Checks can verify resume details going back 10 years. The verification process is managed via telephone, fax or email. Each method depends on the country where the check is being conducted.

What period of work can an Employment History Check verify?

WorkPro’s Employment History Check can verify previous details of up to 10 years. The check can include verification of information from up to two previous employers of each candidate.

What do I receive as a result of the check?

You will receive a comprehensive and detailed report that will be available in your WorkPro dashboard. You will receive a notification when it arrives. The report will include all of the details obtained as listed above.

Is consent required from the candidate?

To meet national privacy regulations, informed candidate consent is mandatory as part of the application process for CV checks with WorkPro.
